How to get to Badian

Badian can be reached by public buses or V-Hires (vans) from the Cebu South Terminal in Cebu City with an estimated travel time of about 3 hours. But during our travel, we ride a bus at Librando which cost Php120 as regular fare but since we are students we are given almost 20% discount so we only paid Php93. When we arrive in the poblacion of badian we ride the what they called “habal-habal” for Php20 going to our classmate’s house where  we are going to stay. As what we have knew this southern town got its name from a plant called, "badyang", which was once abundant in the area. However, the Spaniards found it difficult to pronounce the name so eventually the "g" was dropped and the "y" was changed to "i" and the town came to be known as Badian, a generally mountainous and hilly area where locals and tourists go around in jeepneys and tricycles. But now its source of transportation is more on “habal-habal” or motorcycle. We only saw few jeepneys along the highway.

The Captivating KAWASAN FALLS

Considered as the most popular destination in Badian, Kawasan Falls is a three-tiered waterfall system that is located in Barangay Matutinao. You would have to walk for 15-30 minutes from the national road to get to the actual waterfalls. The walking will all be worth it though since you will be welcomed with misty, clean, and crystal-clear waters! To get to the main source of the waterfalls and be awed by how cool it flows from one stone to another, walk uphill until you reach a small cave. The walk to the second level of the falls may also range from 10-15 minutes, but then again, you'll forget about all the body pains that you might feel from the walking because of the place's natural beauty.
How to go to Kawasan Falls:
1. From Cebu Airport, ride a cab and go to Cebu South Bus Terminal. It would cost you around 200 pesos and it would take you abut 40 minutes to reach the terminal.

3. From the church, you will have to walk uphill and it’s about 1.5 kilometers away from the highway. It would take you 15-30 minutes to reach the first waterfalls. There will be locals that will ask you if you want them guide you but you can do it on your own by just following the clear path (that’s what we did). You can also asks locals for directions if you’re not sure. If you want to go the second and third falls, it’s recommended to get a guide for your safety and protection.
Expenses:
  • 10 pesos for the Entrance Fee
Optional:
